So is this completely normal, that at the start I was able to defeat the first Dwarf faction, but after that the Skaelings and the Vargs came with huge armies forcing me to make peace with them. You can probably still get an alliance later, and you really care more about the attacking south than liking you, but it will set you back a few turns. In theory you could help Vargs and not awaken the Baesonlings, as the Vargs are stronger at the start it could be a better tactic, it is just a long walk to Skaelings turf.įinal note, to get one leader unlocked you need to awaken 4 tribes, in practice that means attacking both the Skaelings and Vargs. Raiding Kislev to give the Baersonglings time to become a major annoyance us very helpful. It takes too long to build up an awakened tribe and time matters. Any tribe you awaken, other than the Baesonlings should used only as tools to weaken the Vargs but ababoned to your final ally.

As I can't get them make nice with each other, that seems to mean eliminating all but one, or one plus the Baesonlings since they are so far away.Įasiest thing to do is tear up the Vargs and let the Skaelings eat everyone else.
What you really want is to point them south. You can't negotiate military access as you have no territory, nor trade, but they don'the seem to care about trespass much anyway.

Feel free to accept treatises even if you have to pay, but there is no need to pay ransom. Yes awakened tribes start liking you and with treaties, but by just not attacking a tribe and raiding their neighbors you can make nice with any of them, on hard anyway. But note if the Vargs or Skaelings are eliminated the can be reawakened.įrom your point of view, no tribe is better than any other.
You can't awaken an active tribe since presumably the Warriors are with the active tribal warlord.Īt the game start 3 tribes are conquered by the Vargs and 1 by the Skaelings. This represents the people living there really associating with the tribe as an identity. If the tribe has been eliminated, when you conquer any settlement in their territory you have the option of awakening the tribe. In most cases the name of the tribe matches the capital of the territory, except the Skaeking who have two (Doom Keep and Bojorn's(sp?) Gathering Territories.) There are 6 tribes and each tribe has a home territory.
